Nearly 20% of Premix personnel are involved in research and development functions, which account for 5% of our sales. We have a well-equipped laboratory with equipment for testing physical and rheological properties; analytical instruments including DS-calorimeters, TG-analyzers and IR-spectrometers.

Simulation of our customers' processes is essential. For that purpose the laboratories are equipped with film blowing, casting (even multilayer), extrusion coating and injection moulding units and a 35 mm pilot line for sheet extrusion. Two laboratory pilot scale Buss co-kneaders ensure quick deliveries of development batches.

Skilled R&D personnel attend to the technical support needed by our customers. In addition, new applications for existing products are continuously being developed in cooperation with the customer to fulfil a specific need, often within a tight time frame. Our researchers work alongside customers on long-term projects to develop entirely new product groups or application areas. Formal non-disclosure agreements are, of course, applied to ensure confidentiality.

We are actively participating in many projects with universities and research institutes to complement our own development work. Through this valuable collaboration, Premix always has the latest knowledge at hand.
